Say what you want about Gary Vee (Gary Vaynerchuk), but out of everything he says (which is a lot) one thing really stuck with me.

“You should always be 51% in control”. Not 50-50. Not 49-51. You are 51%. Why? Because that way you are always on the controlling side - in control of your own destiny. No one is able to leverage anything against you.

In every aspect of life you should be applying this strategy. Work : Do so much that no one would dare consider replacing you; have all the leveraging power. Personal : Be so kind and be so empathetic to those around you that if they ever lost you in their lives it would hurt. While if you chose to leave because they are a negative or un-influencial, it doesnt affect you.

Be in control of your own life.
