I gave up drinking this month.
I’ve done it the past two years. The first year I got through the entire month without drinking. What helped me was really the shock from the reasoning why I was doing it in the first place (read blog 001). Last year I only cheated 4 times (lol).
As I approach the closure of the first week, every function I attend at night people pressure you as if youre doing something wrong for not having a drink. I have to justify myself for trying to be healthier. Justify myself for being able to keep my mind and body in check. Justify that I don’t need alcohol to have a good time.
Why?
Same thing when people go on diets and eat salads - we question why they would do such a thing instead of supporting them.
We care more about others then ourselves. That’s why.
